ABUJA- Sen. Bala Mohammed, the FCT Minister, has called on citizens to avail themselves of quality services at healthcare centres in the territory for their well-being.
Mohammed said this at the beginning of the health week on maternal newborn and child health and the Immunisation Plus Days in the FCT.
The theme of the event is “A package for a lifetime of better care for the family.’’
The minister, who was represented by Dr Michael Ogohewa, Director of Clinical Services, Federal Ministry of Health, noted that motherhood and children issues were of paramount importance the world over.
“I believe this celebration is yet another avenue for the FCT administration to fortify actions that will enhance healthcare for women and children,’’ he said.
In his remarks, Dr Rilwanu Mohammed, the Executive Secretary, FCT Primary Healthcare Development Board, urged parents to allow immunisation officers unfettered access in their homes, to enable them immunise children.
He explained that the agency would distribute drugs for de- worming and Vitamin A supplements to fight Vitamin A Disorders.
